Halloween Donuts in Utah: What They Cost, and the 2:00pm Problem Nobody Mentions
5 October 2026 · 5 min read

Start with the part that actually ruins plans. Halloween 2026 falls on a Saturday, and on Saturdays Spanish Fork and St. George close at 2:00pm. Ogden closes at 3:00pm. If your plan involves collecting donuts on the afternoon of the 31st, at two of our three shops that afternoon does not exist. And we are closed Sunday, so the 1st is not a fallback either.
The hours, plainly
| Shop | Saturday 31 October |
|---|---|
| Spanish Fork | 5:00am – 2:00pm |
| Ogden | 5:00am – 3:00pm |
| St. George | 5:00am – 2:00pm |
Every shop opens at five. That is the easy half of this. The useful move for a Saturday party is a morning pickup, not an afternoon one — and a morning pickup on a Saturday is genuinely pleasant, because the whole board is still there.
What decorated donuts cost
Custom decorated donuts are $3.00 each. They are iced rather than glazed, which is the reason they can carry colour and writing at all — a glaze sets clear and thin and will not hold a design. Custom donuts has the longer version.
One thing to know before you do the arithmetic yourself: custom is the single item on our board where a dozen is not a discount. Twelve at $3.00 is $36.00, which is exactly twelve singles. Everywhere else, a dozen is buy ten get two free — glazed at $15.00, assorted at $22.50, cake at $25.00, specialty at $27.50, each of those the price of ten with two added. The full price list is in how much is a dozen.
So the cheapest way to make a Halloween table look decorated is usually not a dozen custom donuts. It is a dozen or two of glazed and cake rings, which do get the deal, with a handful of custom ones mixed in for the ones people photograph.
If you want a donut wall
A wall is pegs with a donut on each one, standing where a dessert table would go. Two rules decide everything: rings only, because a peg needs a hole, and roughly one and a half donuts per guest. Filled donuts and bars have no hole and cannot hang.
For thirty guests that is about forty-five donuts, call it four dozen, and four dozen glazed rings at $15.00 is the cheapest version of that picture you can buy. Cake rings at $2.50 each hold their shape better over a couple of hours if the wall is going to stand through an evening. Donut walls in Utah goes through the rest, including what to ask the shop before you assume the wall itself is ours to provide.
For a plain count rather than a wall, how many donuts do I need is the same one-and-a-half rule applied to a box.
When to call
A day's notice is the minimum and it is not a formality. Everything is made the morning of — there is no back room with a hundred decorated donuts in it. A party order is a block of a baker's morning, so the earlier it is on the books, the more of it gets made properly instead of squeezed around the counter trade. For the week of Halloween, earlier than that.
And check the shop you are collecting from, not a directory listing. Hours and specials are not identical across the three, which is the thing that catches people out most often — which holidays are we open covers the rest of the calendar, including the two days a year we close.
The honest note about the picture at the top of this page
That is a Christmas box, decorated by us. We have not photographed a Halloween box yet, and rather than show you something that is not ours or caption a picture as something it is not, we would rather tell you what you are looking at: the same decorating work, a different season. If you order one this month, that is the photograph we are missing.
Common questions
What time do you close on Halloween 2026?
Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October 2026. Spanish Fork and St. George close at 2:00pm on Saturdays. Ogden closes at 3:00pm. All three open at 5:00am. And we are closed Sunday, so there is no day-after pickup on 1 November.
How much are custom decorated donuts?
$3.00 each, or $36.00 a dozen. Custom is the one item where the dozen is not a discount — twelve at $3.00 is $36.00. Every other dozen on our board is buy ten, get two free.
How far ahead should I order Halloween donuts?
A day's notice at minimum, and more than that for a party-sized order. Everything is made the morning of, so a large order is a morning's production rather than something sitting in a case. The earlier it is on the books, the more of it gets made properly.
Does half off after 2:00pm apply on Halloween?
No, for two reasons. That deal runs Monday through Thursday only, and only at Spanish Fork and St. George — Ogden does not run it. Halloween 2026 is a Saturday, so it would not apply at any shop even before you get to the fact that two of them have already closed by then.
Can I do a donut wall for a Halloween party?
Yes, and it has to be ring donuts — a peg needs a hole, so filled donuts and bars cannot hang at all. Count on roughly one and a half donuts per guest. Traditional glazed rings are the bulk choice at $1.50 each, cake rings at $2.50 are sturdier over a couple of hours, and specialty rings are $2.75.
Do you have Halloween-specific donuts on the board?
What we can price for you is custom decorated donuts at $3.00 each, iced rather than glazed so they hold colour. Whether a particular shop has a seasonal item in the case on a particular morning is a question for that counter — we are not going to publish a Halloween menu we have not confirmed.
