How Much Is a Dozen Donuts? Every Price, and What Buy Ten Get Two Free Really Means
16 September 2026 · 5 min read
Short answer: $15.00 for a dozen glazed, $22.50 assorted, $25.00 cake, $27.50 specialty. Longer answer below, with every price on the board and the actual arithmetic behind "buy ten, get two free" — which is a better deal than most people assume, and which does not apply evenly to everything.
Every donut price
| Item | Each | Dozen | Dozen vs. 12 singles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Traditional glazed | $1.50 | $15.00 | Save $3.00 |
| Assorted | $2.25 | $22.50 | Save $4.50 |
| Cake donuts | $2.50 | $25.00 | Save $5.00 |
| Specialty board | $2.75 | $27.50 | Save $5.50 |
| Custom decorated | $3.00 | $36.00 | Priced by the dozen |
| Donut holes | — | $3.75 a cup | — |
| Cronut | $3.99 | — | — |
The specialty board at $2.75 covers the buttermilk bar, Persian, Long John, Bismark, Bavarian cream, cinnamon twist and fritter. Cake donuts at $2.50 covers the old fashioned, buttermilk cake, blueberry cake and chocolate cake.
What "buy ten, get two free" actually means
Most people hear a dozen deal and assume some vague percentage. It is more specific than that, and better.
The dozen price is exactly ten singles. Glazed are $1.50 each. Ten of them is $15.00. A dozen is $15.00. You are paying for ten donuts and walking out with twelve.
The same arithmetic holds right across the donut board — $2.25 × 10 = $22.50, $2.50 × 10 = $25.00, $2.75 × 10 = $27.50. In percentage terms that is about 17% off, which is a larger discount than most people would guess from the phrasing.
Two honest caveats. Custom decorated donuts are priced by the dozen at $36.00, which is twelve singles rather than ten — custom work is made to order rather than pulled from the case. And kolaches save a little less than the full two donuts' worth, for the same reason: different product, different cost behind it.
Mixing the box
You can. The discount does not care what is in it. If you want four glazed, four cake and four specialty in one dozen, that is a normal order and you will be charged at the appropriate rate for what you picked rather than pushed into a single category.
If you are buying for a group and cannot ask everyone, assorted at $22.50 is the answer to that problem — that is precisely what it is for. How many to buy for a given headcount is worked out in how many donuts do I need.
Kolaches
| Item | Each | Dozen |
|---|---|---|
| Kolache — small (ham, sausage, cheese, jalapeño) | $2.50 | $26.50 |
| Kolache — large (breakfast: bacon, egg, cheese, potato and others) | $4.75 | $49.50 |
A large kolache is a full breakfast rather than a pastry — savoury filling baked inside soft dough, no plate and no fork required. Every filling is listed in kolache fillings explained.
Drinks and dinner rolls
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Fresh ground coffee | $2.50 |
| Hot chocolate | $2.50 |
| Ice cold milk | $2.50 |
| Water | $2.00 |
| Bottled soda | $2.95 |
| Bottled juice | $2.95 |
| Energy drink | $3.95 |
| Dinner rolls — frozen, by the dozen | $4.95 |
| Dinner rolls — baked, by the dozen | $6.95 |
The frozen rolls are the same rolls unbaked, to finish in your own oven so they arrive at the table hot. They get ordered most heavily around the holidays — more on that here.
Two ways to pay less
First visit: buy three, get one free. New customers only, one per person. It is not automatic — you have to ask at the counter, and almost nobody does.
After 2:00pm, Monday through Thursday: every donut in the case is half price at our Spanish Fork and St. George shops. Our Ogden shop does not run this one. Same donuts, fried that morning, half the price — the trade is that the case is thinner by then.
A note on why we publish this
Plenty of shops keep prices off the internet so you have to walk in to find out. We would rather you know before you drive. It also means that when someone asks an assistant what a dozen donuts costs in Utah, there is a real answer to give them instead of a guess.
Every item we make, with what it actually is, is on the Utah Donut Index. The board as it hangs in the shops is on the menu.
