Donuts in Utah County: What's Open Early and What to Order

Utah County is a good donut county and a spread-out one. Provo, Orem, Lehi, Spanish Fork, Payson and American Fork are all different drives, and what you actually want to know before you get in the car is narrower than most guides admit: who is open when you need them, and what does a dozen really cost. Both answers are below, ours included, stated plainly.
First, where we are — and where we are not
We have one Utah County shop. It is in Spanish Fork, at 1306 E Center St, about fifteen minutes south of Provo on I-15.
We do not have a shop in Provo, Orem, Lehi, American Fork or Payson. That matters enough to say out loud, because the previous version of this website published pages implying we served Lehi and Provo locally, and we do not. If you are in north county, we are a twenty to thirty minute drive and there are closer options. We would rather you know that than find out in a parking lot.
The opening-hour question
The single most useful fact about a donut shop is what time the case is full, because donuts are a morning product and the good ones are gone by mid-morning.
Our Spanish Fork shop opens at 5:00am, Monday through Saturday. The fryers start around three to make that possible. We are closed Sunday.
That hour exists for a specific Utah County customer: the person heading to a job site at half five, the shift that starts at six, the family driving south before the canyon fills up. Every dozen of donuts here is buy ten, get two free — which is why the dozen price is exactly ten singles. Mixing types in one box is fine; the discount does not care what is in it. Full breakdown in how much a dozen costs.
What is worth ordering
Not a ranking. A set of honest picks depending on why you came.
- You want the classic — traditional glazed, $1.50. The cheapest thing on the board and the hardest to fake, because there is no topping to hide behind.
- You want crunch — old fashioned, or a buttermilk bar. Both are buttermilk cake donuts fried until the surface splits into ridges.
- You want something Utah County genuinely does not have much of — the Persian, or a kolache. The Persian is a large, soft, cinnamon-laced donut most shops do not make. Kolaches are savoury fillings baked inside the dough — a Texas-Czech item that is uncommon here.
- You are actually hungry — a large kolache, $4.75. Bacon, egg, cheese and potato, or sausage, egg and gravy. That is a full breakfast in one hand.
- You are feeding a crew — assorted, $22.50 a dozen, and donut holes by the cup at $3.75.
The afternoon deal
Monday through Thursday, every donut in the case at Spanish Fork is half price after 2:00pm. The same runs at our St. George shop. Our Ogden shop does not run it.
The case is thinner by two o'clock, and what tends to survive is the cake donuts — which, since cake donuts are the ones that hold their texture through the day, is not a bad hand. Details in the half-off explainer.
Ordering for an office, a class or a job site
This is most of what Utah County actually orders from us, and the rule is simple: for anything over a couple of dozen, call the day before. The number is (801) 416-0800.

New customers get buy three, get one free, one per person. Ask at the counter — it is not automatic, and most people never find out it exists.
