Donuts for an Office Meeting in Utah County: What to Order and How Much

For a morning meeting, order one and a half donuts per person, round up to the nearest dozen, and make roughly a third of it savoury kolaches. Every dozen is buy ten, get two free. Our Spanish Fork shop opens at 5:00am, so you can collect on the way in.
How much to order
The number people get wrong is the multiplier. One donut per head leaves you short, because two or three people take a second and someone arrives late. One and a half per person, rounded up to a whole dozen, lands about right.
- 8 people — one dozen
- 15 people — two dozen
- 25 people — three dozen, maybe four if it is an all-morning session
- 40+ — call ahead the day before rather than turning up hoping
Mix in kolaches — this is the actual advice
A box of donuts is a treat. A box that is one-third savoury kolaches is breakfast. It changes what the meeting feels like, and it takes care of the people who do not want a sugar hit at 8am — which in most offices is more people than you would think.
Large kolaches are $4.75 each, $49.50 a dozen: bacon, egg, cheese and potato; sausage, egg, cheese and potato; sausage, egg and gravy; ham ranchero. Small are $2.50 each, $26.50 a dozen.
Almost no other donut shop in Utah makes kolaches, so this is also the order that gets remarked on. Nobody comments on a box of donuts. People comment on the kolaches.
What to put in the box
For a mixed group, ordering assorted ($2.25 each, $22.50 a dozen) beats trying to guess. If you want to be more deliberate:
- Glazed — the safe majority, $1.50 each
- Cake and old fashioned — for the people who find glazed too sweet, and they hold up better if the meeting runs long
- A few specialty — $2.75 each, they make the box look like an occasion
- Cronut — $3.99. One or two, for whoever gets there first
The timing
All three shops open at 5:00am, six days a week. That means you can collect before nearly anything else in town is open, and you are not competing with the 8am rush.
Same-day works for a dozen or two. For anything bigger, or if you want specific things, call the day before. Kolaches in particular sell out early — they are usually the first thing gone.
